Microsoft releases Windows XP security updates as it warns of 'destructive' state-sponsored cyber attacks

Microsoft has warned of state-sponsored cyber attacks, as it released updates for its Windows operating systems, including Windows XP.

The company stopped supporting XP in April 2014, but has now taken the unprecedented move of including it in the firm's latest round of security updates.

The updates, released today, are in response to an 'elevated risk of cyber attacks by government organizations,' Microsoft said.
